Vale George Marney, Footscray CC Life Member, absolute legend canoeist, a gentleman, raced every type of kayak and canoe in Sprint and Marathon, even Dragon boat racing. So friendly and supportive, even in his later years bike riding along the Maribyrnong River, always time to stop for a chat. Very involved with his work in scouting and the first restoration of the sailing ship Alma Doepel in the 80’s and 90’s.
